Block Images and External Objects View email faster - Block Images and External Objects option blocks images from loading or any external code that may be sent along with the email to display the message faster. Should I block images from being displayed in the email? Images consume a lot of system resources while loading. This will increase the time it takes to display the message in the email. When you block images, the images will not be retrieved from the server and will display the message faster. Moreover, certain images can carry malicious code along with them and may get installed on your computer without your knowledge. This code can relay information about your email address, which may result in more spam in your mailbox. By preventing these images from loading until you are confident of the source, you may prevent spammers from sending you unsolicited email. How do I enable or disable the Block Images and External Objects option? You can enable or disable the View email faster - Block Images and External Objects option from the Reading Messages menu:- Sign into the NetZero Message Center at http://webmail.netzero.net.
- Click on Settings and then Email Features.
- Click on Reading Messages under Preferences.
- Check the box View email faster: Block images and other external objects in the email I read.
- Click Save.
NOTE: When the images are blocked, the email will display an External Images Blocked message in the email. If you want to see images of only a particular email, you can click the "Click here to display" option available next to the External Images Blocked box. If the images are not blocked, the email will display External Images Unblocked. Why are certain images not blocked? NetZero does not prevent images from loading if they are from United Online or from any our advertising partners. You can be assured that these images are free from any malicious code and will not harm your computer in any way.
