Email Policy Changes - Frequently Asked Questions As of June 1, 2004, NetZero will be implementing a policy change that will affect all Free members who use dedicated email programs such as Outlook Express to access their NetZero mail. Below is a list of frequently asked questions about the changes to NetZero email.
Will the feature changes being made to NetZero email affect me? If you are a NetZero HiSpeed 3G, Platinum, or MegaMail member, the changes to NetZero email will not affect you. If you are a Free NetZero Member, as of June 1, 2004, you will need to use NetZero Message Center to access your NetZero email account. You can access your NetZero Message Center account from any computer with Internet access by visiting http://webmail.netzero.com. 
Can I still use Outlook Express or other email programs to access or "POP" my NetZero email account? After June 1, 2004, if you are a NetZero Free member and you wish to use a dedicated email program such as Outlook Express to receive your NetZero email, you will need to upgrade to one of our premium services - NetZero HiSpeed 3G, Platinum, or MegaMail. What happens to my NetZero email if I cannot read my email offline or use other programs like Outlook Express with my free NetZero email account? You can still access your NetZero email and enjoy all the added benefits and features of our state of the art email service by using NetZero Message Center. Message Center gives you better tools and features to help you manage your NetZero email and lets you access your NetZero email account from any computer with an Internet connection by visiting http://webmail.netzero.com. 
What is NetZero Message Center? NetZero Message Center is a free service offered by NetZero that allows NetZero members to check email messages from any computer connected to the Internet. NetZero members do not have to create new Passwords or Member IDs to take advantage of Message Center. Just log in to Message Center at http://webmail.netzero.com with the same Member ID and Password you normally use to log in with the NetZero software. Why do I get multiple messages that say "This feature is only available for NetZero premium members"? You are receiving these messages because you are a Free NetZero member trying to check your NetZero email account offline or through a dedicated offline email program like Outlook Express. As of June 1, 2004, NetZero Free email accounts are only accessible through NetZero Message Center at http://webmail.netzero.com. Some email programs have a setting that automatically checks an email account for new messages every few minutes. If you are a Free NetZero member, you will need to disable this setting in your dedicated email program or you will continue to receive this notice during your online session. If you want to use a dedicated email program such as Outlook Express to access your NetZero email, you will need to upgrade to one of our premium services such as NetZero HiSpeed 3G, Platinum, or MegaMail. How do I disable my dedicated email program now that I plan to use NetZero Message Center? In most cases, you can simply stop using your dedicated email program and use NetZero Message Center instead. Remember your Web browser may still try to launch your dedicated email program instead of NetZero Message Center if you click an email link in your Web browser. How can I move contacts into Message Center's Address Book? You can now import Address Book entries from other Web based email provider like Hotmail, Yahoo!
