Common Connection Errors / Solutions DirectX not installed To run the NetZero software properly, you must have the DirectX plug-in installed. Follow the steps below to install the latest version of Microsoft's DirectX.

(http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads/default.asp) - Read the DirectX information.
- Select the proper DirectX 8.1 Runtime link for your operating system
(Windows 98, 2000, etc.) - Under Download Now, click on the DX81eng.exe link.
(Note: Windows 95 users must download DX80eng.exe) - Select the circle next to Save this program to disk and click OK.
- From the Save in drop-down menu, select Desktop.
- Once the download is complete, click on the Close button.
- Log off of the Internet and close all programs.
- On your desktop, click on the DX81eng.exe icon.
- Click on the Yes button to install DirectX.
- Accept the license agreement to continue the installation.
- When prompted, click OK to restart your computer.
