DirectX not installed

To run the NetZero software properly, you must have the DirectX plug-in installed. Follow the steps below to install the latest version of Microsoft's DirectX.

Important: Read all of the steps below before clicking on the provided link.

1. Click here, to get started.
   (http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads/default.asp)
2. Read the DirectX information.
3. Select the proper DirectX 8.1 Runtime link for your operating system
   (Windows 98, 2000, etc.)
4. Under Download Now, click on the DX81eng.exe link.
   
   (Note: Windows 95 users must download DX80eng.exe)
5. Select the circle next to Save this program to disk and click OK.
6. From the Save in drop-down menu, select Desktop.
7. Once the download is complete, click on the Close button.
8. Log off of the Internet and close all programs.
9. On your desktop, click on the DX81eng.exe icon.
10. Click on the Yes button to install DirectX.
11. Accept the license agreement to continue the installation.
12. When prompted, click OK to restart your computer.
