Understanding Email

You've probably heard this before, but here's a recap: An email address tells the world where to send all your electronic mail. You can usually spot an email address because it begins with a username, has an @ sign in the center, and ends with a domain name, like webmaster@netzero.com.

Don't confuse an email address with a URL, which is a Web address that always begins with http:// (or has a www at the beginning).

Email is the most popular feature of the Internet, and certainly worth understanding. NetZero supports the following email programs:

This walkthrough will discuss email using the program Outlook Express 5 by Microsoft. Most email programs work in pretty much the same way, so even though the screens and descriptions that follow may not correspond to your email program, you should still find this walkthrough helpful.
