View your Cache Files

Netscape's disk cache is a collection of temporary Internet files intended to minimize redundant downloads. Normally, when you click on a link to access a web page, Netscape sends a command to the server where the page is located and the server replies back with the requested page. When the requested page arrives for display, Netscape stores a copy in the cache. Using the cache, Netscape can open the page quickly by requesting it from your local hard drive instead of the remote server over the Internet.

To view a list of files stored in your cache, type About:cache in Netscape's location field. This will provide details about each file such as its URL, content length and type, local file name, when it was last modified and its expiration date.
